e-Bus Sim 01

About the Project

This tool aims to increase awareness about the energy demand from battery electric buses in transit operations. The tool is designed by Dr. Mohamed’s research team at McMaster University, with the support of Dr. Farag from York University. We would like to acknowledge the support from the Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI).
We would like to note that this website and the estimation tools are those of the authors and do not represent the views of the funding agency.

e-Bus Sim 01

The e-Bus Sim 01 is the first step towards developing an open-source e-Bus energy management orchestrator. At this stage, the energy demand of battery electric buses (BEBs) is estimated by integrating more than a million BEB drive cycles and seven machine learning models.

The next stage will include BEB transit system optimization at the network level (e-Bus Sim 02) and integrating the e-Bus energy management orchestrator with open-source transit data (e-Bus Sim 03).
